Story has it, Jan Coenraad Visser (JCV) was veelverjaagt (chased around enough) as Governor Simon van der Stel’s property developer. He was then granted this land, now titled as Veelverjaagt. Located on the Polkadraai Road, Stellenbosch and the south-side of the Bottelray Hills.

Late 1700’s

A century later, the farm was bought by a French Huguenot descendant, Dirk Daniel Joubert. Since then, five Joubert generations have placed their unique stamp on this incredible property.

2000

An exciting new era dawned at the turn of the millennium that led to a vibrant American/South African joint venture leading to what’s known today as Beau Joubert.

2016 - date

Co-Owner and MD, Andrew Hilliard has taken full title of the brands, eventually partnering with award winning winemaker, Catherine Marshall for their first vintage in 2019.

Beau Joubert is an American-owned wine brand, rich with traditional wine making history within the Cape Winelands, South Africa.

Born from a wine farm dating back to 1695 and Andrew Hilliard’s unexpected journey to South Africa, Andrew fell in love with the Cape of Goodhope and developed a passion for wine making in partnership with the Joubert family. 

With more than 20 years of honing our craft and leading us to a collaboration with the renowned Catherine Marshall as our wine-maker, grapes are sourced from the best vineyards within South Africa to create a variety of unique artisinal wines.  

Consisting of two ranges - our premium Beau Joubert label wines, crafted for the connoisseurs and our Oak Lane range, made for your everyday enjoyment. Supporting the Pebbles Project with every bottle of wine sold, Beau Joubert has a strong focus on giving back.

Beau Joubert is deeply rooted in heritage and strives to showcase the consistent quality of South African wine to an international market.
